The Subcamps were named after Scottish wild animals & birds
- our Subcamp was WILDCAT
On the Wildcat Sub-camp, as well as the Cupar
& Czech Scouts, were the Swedish Scouts from Upsalla, Northern Irish Scouts
from Ards, Polish Scouts from Gdansk, and Scots from Buckie, Dunfermline,
Aberdour, Bishopton, and Glasgow.
It was arranged that Cupar Scouts organize all the equipment and catering for our Patrol and the Czech Patrol. The organization on the camp was totally integrated - the Czech Scouts eating our food!!!! (when we go to Czech Republic we will be eating the Czech food!!!!)
The camp was only 3 miles from a large supermarket - ASDA - and as all our food is calculated on a spreadsheet and printed shopping lists produced, we were able to shop each day very easily and quickly, and the food was thus kept fresh.
We were given an area just to the left of the entrance and set
up camp. Immediately we had set up camp we had to raise our flags - the Czech
and the Scots Flag with the World Scout Flag
A few weeks earlier a new Activities building had been opened, complete with a new toilet block with plenty of hot water & showers!!! - the old days were never like this!!!
